‘Apograph XIII’ by Debbie Locke highlights the diversity of drawing as a medium. The simplicity of the work and the stark contrast between line and space, presence and absence encourages consideration. The drawing floats on the page delicately pinned in each corner but weighted down by the density of the pencil marks in the middle. At first glance it can appear minimal, even marginal in the wider scheme of the exhibition, yet it is actually quite a complex work full of tension.
